| Costa Blanca Superwomen triumphs in Scotland. Lisa Fox who ran in the recent MABS Cancer Support Group race for life in Moraira ran a triumphant marathon in Edinburgh on Sunday 23rd May raising almost €2500 for MABS. Lisa (40), the first women home in the race for life, went to Edinburgh with her sister-in-law Karen Cornwell (43) of Preston Lancs. Lisa finished in a very respectable 4 hours, 21 minutes and 56 seconds which was 17 minutes faster than she completed the race last year. The weather was hot, 24 degrees Celsius, which made the race really hard going but Lisa says there was a fantastic atmosphere. Cheering supporters lined the streets spraying the runners with hoses to help keep them cool. At the end of the race both she and Karen felt a massive sense of achievement. To all the people who supported her and all the people who sponsored her Lisa says a heartfelt thank you. Particularly she wishes to say a huge thank you to Don Quijote's bar in Moraira who helped her with fund raising events. Lisa ran in memory of her Dad who died of cancer but as a result of her tremendous effort many people affected by the illness will be supported through MABS.
