A Timeless Party Night for MABS, 2010. MABS Cancer Support Group, held one of it's major fund raising events of the year on Friday 11 June at the Salon Canor, Teulada; the Summer Ball 2010.  The Ball was hosted by  Jacqui Philips, MBE , President of MABS and was attended by guest of honour Lloyd Milan, Acting British Consul, Alicante. The event, this year, has  raised just over €4200 for the Group and money is still coming in. A four and half litre bottle of Whisky was won for a €5 ticket, that raffle alone raised a total of €290. Ten items donated by local artists and businesses as well as by well known international celebrities raised €1300 in the silent auction. Over two hundred members of the public showed their support for MABS by buying tickets for the event and by participating in  various fund raising activities.  Candy Wright gave MABS her time to compare the event. (Everybody agreed they had never seen a more energetic and animated fairy.) Candy also produced the table designs and decorations to illustrate the black and white theme. People were treated to a wonderful meal and then danced the night away to the music of the Timeless and DJ Darrell. As with all events such as this it's success depends on the hard work of a few individuals. Coral Guise-Smith gave an enormous amount of her time and energy, as she has on previous years, towards making this a night to remember, to her and all the other helpers – thank you.  A MABS spokesperson said: “However hard we work as a Group without the generosity of   our sponsors, whether they provide us with money, services or skills we could not  even contemplate a function such as this.  These main sponsors, Home 2 Home, Female Focus, S R Print and Design, Telitec Connections and all of the other eighty business and organisations who have helped us throughout the year, have given generously in a very difficult economic climate and we are very grateful to all of them”. Our next event is a Charity Golf tournement and MABS Family Fun Day on June 26 hosted by Javea Golf Club.
